Moody Wedding Photoshoot In Austrian Alps

Happy to share a new gallery from a wedding photoshoot in Austrian alps I did at Villa Schoenthal in Semmering. The location itself felt like stepping into a story — a big wooden villa full of character, with sunlight coming through the windows and creating these deep contrasts.

I wanted to keep the mood a bit darker and cinematic, letting the light carve out the atmosphere rather than brighten everything up. As always I stick to moody and storytelling frames and try to show a certain intimacy and emotions between them that really fits the scene.

The mix of old architecture, static and busy, lively photographs, and the this vintage charm everywhere allowed me to capture all that as a strong visual story. As always I pushed the contrast up by also using my lights in some of the photos, although most of what you see was photographed as it is, with soft natural light falling through the windows. I could create this certain style in any location but of course it’s very enjoyable when the scene is prepared for something exciting and I can let my creativity do the job.

Aside from the location, I was very lucky with the couple. We easily found things on which to connect and as Rafael is a dancer and Gretta knows the moves too I could get some of these energetic lively and passionate shots that you will also find below.

The gallery

I started off with photographing the venue, interiors and details. The vintage interiors with a lot of wood and little balconies that add the charm. Then I captured the main table decoration with artistic light and different effects and after started with the main part of the photoshoot.
