Here is my third post with our travel photos of Georgia. If you have not seen the previous posts, you can see them here:

Photos of Georgia in 2022. Amazing Trip with Ricoh GRIIIx (1)

Georgia in Photos. Part 2. Through Svaneti to Tbilisi

Some of the pictures in this blog post are mine and part of them are by Jan Ivahnenko.

We have travelled through the country with one camera for 2 of us – Ricoh GRIIIx a really pocketable professional camera. Since we had a big and adventurous hike we wanted to take the minimum weight with us to be able to climb over these magnificent mountains. The pictures from the hike you can see in the previous post.

Photos of Tbilisi

By the end of our trip, we arrived in Tbilisi. It’s such a vibrant city that is very different from the rest of the country. It’s still quite poor and when you walk on the streets you might suddenly find yourself in a car parking trying to not get dirty walking in between densely parked cars. The pavements appear and disappear all the time.

But the city is very vibrant with all the hipster bars and cafes and beautiful architecture which is falling apart. Aside from that, there are a lot of developers since the taxes are low and there are a lot of tourists. It was still quite annoying that there were many people trying to sell you tours on every corner of the city. So if you’d like to see the real Georgia I would recommend going to other cities.

But this post is about photography and photos of Georgia. So let’s get to the business.

A Georgian Backyard. Travel photos of Georgia

Here is the first picture. Not the first photo of Tbilisi that we have taken but the first that represents the city quite well. I could remove that ugly air conditioner in photoshop but decided to keep it there for the authenticity of the place.

Travel photos of Georgia, An entrance to a house in Tbilisi

There are a lot of hills in the city and in many places, the entrances to the houses look like the one above

Georgian Yard in Tbilisi

A yard in the city looks like some scene from a film.

From the top of a hill, you can see the view over the whole city. And yes, in many places you get grape vines in the way. Wine is very authentic there and almost every family has its own homemade wine.

Abstract photograph of a tree. Travel photos of Georgia

We bought some pieces of glass made for the light fixture at a flea market and used them to create more abstract photography.

Travel Photos Of Georgia. Trip To Kazbegi

Travel photograph of Georgian mountains with paraplanes
On one of the days, we took a trip to the mountains where we saw some magnificent sceneries

These would be probably more typical travel photos of Georgia, we usually create something more abstract but it’s so beautiful there that I wanted to share these too.

It was unusual to also see abandoned houses in such places where a lot of tourists.

Horse in a cloud in mountains

The image above is made by Anna and I would be honest with you. I photoshopped it. I remember how we discussed that unfortunately, the horse was behind the tree and Anna couldn’t take the shot she wanted. So for this article, I decided to move the horse in photoshop. Below you can see the before example

Last Days In Tbilisi

After the trip, we returned to the city where we had a couple of days left.

An old staircase with a dramatic light
Soggy and warm thermal baths in Tbilisi

On one of the days, we went to the thermal baths. I think these images of little details show a lot more than a straight-on shot of the bath. I really love photography for that. We can tell a story by showing little details and adding some character to everything.

Chronicle of Georgia

Photo of a person walking along a road in a forest on a sunny day

On the next day at sunset, we went to a hill with a huge monument the lighting was super beautiful and we took some portraits of each other.

A picture of a silhouette of a man in Tbilisi

The shot above is a great example of how you can use light and capture it in any way you want to create unusual settings in regular surroundings. The place where it was taken is quite remarkable but the shot has nothing to do with the place.

The location is a monument outside of the city centre and is called Chronicle of Georgia.

After we have descended the hill we walked through the city for the last time.

It was not the best district for a living but very special for photography. It’s interesting how Georgian people added these extra rooms by attaching them to the building. Of course, that’s not good for safety and living, but looks cool)

These are all of the best travel photos of Georgia that we have taken. I hope to visit this country in the future, but for now, I have so many more countries on my list. I haven’t been yet to eastern Europe and plan to go to Montenegro soon. Aside from that I would love to visit Iceland and Japan. Hopefully, I will go to Japan for a few months next autumn but this is very unlikely((.

Thank you very much for reading till the end! I hope I have inspired you to visit this wonderful country and explore this beautiful world.
