Photo Jam Berlin: Creative Photowalks, Workshops and Projects

Photo Jam Berlin is a photography community I organise for people who want a reason to get out with a camera, try new ideas and meet others who enjoy making photographs.

I work mainly as a corporate photographer, but this is a different part of photography for me. It is less about delivering a finished job and more about looking properly, trying things and talking about what we see afterwards.

Creative photowalks in Berlin

Most meetups are photowalks with a small creative challenge. We might photograph only one colour, look for abstract compositions, make diptychs or work in black and white. A simple restriction can make photography more interesting because it stops you taking the same pictures and makes you notice a familiar street differently.

More than a walk

Open book pages display a silhouetted figure against a warm glow and a high-contrast black-and-white portrait.

I do not want Photo Jam to be limited to walking around Berlin. In the future I would like us to visit museums and photography exhibitions together, spend time with photo books and work on small photo-book projects. I also plan to arrange portrait photography workshops where we can experiment with light, direction and ideas in a more focused way.

Some meetings will be simple and some might become more ambitious. That is fine. The point is to make space for creative photography, exchange ideas and have a good time with people who are interested in the same thing.

Who can join

Everyone is welcome, whether you are a beginner or have been photographing for years. Bring a camera, a phone or simply curiosity. You do not need to arrive with a finished style or a big portfolio.
